Why is it called the Snow Moon?
Both Native Americans and colonial Americans named each of the year's full moons based on the weather, harvest or animal behavior. February tends to be the snowiest month of the year in North America; so, it's full moon is appropriately nicknamed.

Colorado Headwaters Land Trust is governed by an a Colorado Headwaters Land Trust is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Members of the board are local business owners, conservation and land use specialists, ranchers, and community volunteers.
Meet CHLT's recently elected 2021 President of the Board of Directors, Paula Metcalf Stuart. Paula says, "I believe that the CHLT is an organization that can positively help protect the environment that we all enjoy for the future. A quote from Benjamin Franklin sums up the issue: 'When the well is dry, we know the worth of water.'"
