Conservation Values protected:

  • Wildlife Habitat: The property provides habitat and activity areas for mountain lion, elk, black bear, mule deer, moose and lynx.
  • Scenic Open Space: The public can view this property from County Road 54 and from U.S. 40. The conservation easement on this property assures that the north side of Nine Mile (Columbine) Mountain will be protected as scenic open space in perpetuity. Looking east from the property, over meadows, aspen forests and lodgepole-spruce-fir forest, one can see a nearly 180 degree scenic view of the western side of the Front Range, including Winter Park Ski Area, James Peak Wilderness Area, Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Rocky Mountain National Park, and parts of the Never Summer Ranch.
