Conservation Values protected:
- Agricultural Open Space: The property was homesteaded in the early 1900’s and has been used intermittently for livestock grazing since then.
- Scenic Open Space: The public can view this scenic and undeveloped ranchland property fro County Road 314 and from Arapaho National Forest land less than one mile to the south of this property. This conservation easement is adjacent to the 1,400-acre Williams Peak Ranch Company Conservation Easement and the 632-acre Battle Creek Holdings, LLC Conservation Easement held by the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust.
- Wildlife Habitat: This property provides summer and winter range for elk. There is an elk migration route less than one mile to the east, an elk production area less than one mile to the southwest, and an area of winter elk concentration less than one mile to the northeast. This property is also overall range for black bear, mountain lion, moose and mule deer. There is a mule deer migration corridor two miles to the east. This property is also overall range for sage grouse as well as a sage grouse production area, with a brooding area for sage grouse less than one mile to the north.
